I’m so under the spell of Death Grips (link currently NSFW) that I can never find any wrong with the band’s attempts to subvert the music industry and carve their own path to success. Hell, I even applaud their rather unorthodox relationship (quite former, I assure you) with Epic Records.
When the band recently released an experimental short film / extended music video for “Come Up And Get Me,” I was immediately hooked. The random imagery, stark black and white compositions, and lo-fi aesthetic fit perfectly with the band’s collection of inventive music videos.
Death Grips always manage to create something from nothing—they utilize the most basic of tools and little to no budget to create captivating content—proof of their creative prowess and dedication to telling their own story.
