It’s a great concept. Have your fans become your marketing team. Who better to spread the word of a forthcoming album than the people who believe in you most? Deerhunter has offered fans a chance to hear their latest single first if they download their poster, post it prominently, and email them a photo of their guerrilla tactics. The marketing benefits here are obvious: low cost and high return.
